America's Haunted Roadtrip

Touring America's Greatest Haunted Areas

Alright, I have just heard something which, if true, is absolutely fascinating -- and, if not, is at least amusing -- and would be interested in some responses to it.

Just went on an excellent ghost tour of Fells Point, a neighborhood of Baltimore that we will be devoting a chapter to in Ghosthunting Maryland. At one point toward the end of the tour, while discussing the ghosts haunting Ledbetter's bar, our guide, Leanna, mentioned that people have had luck placating troublesome ghosts and getting them to vacate haunts by offering them ... Brach's peppermint candies.

I am not one to rule this out simply because it sounds kind of funny (and, of course, it does). A little research on my part revealed that Brach's peppermint candies are technically called Star Brites and, according to the company, they are "made with a high grade sweet peppermint oil to provide long lasting rich peppermint flavor." Certain herbs are reputed to have paranormal properties, and perhaps peppermint oil actually does have some effect on some spirits. Or maybe it's their little pinwheel design. In any event, Leanna also mentioned episodes of ghosts devouring the essence of these candy treats.

Feedback on this subject is welcome!

Actually as proven by a health expert, peppermint oil is good to take a sniff of when need a pick me up. Nothing ghostly about that though. So if tired, use the oil, not the mints themselves.
