Psi-fi Para-Radio Interview (Nov. 4-5, 2009)

Man, I just love this show and always have such a great time on it! An hour-and-a-half just flies by and we cover so much ground. Good questions and interaction from listeners calling in or posting to the Psi-fi Para-Radio chat room keeps everything lively and adds a random element to show.

We discussed any number of diverse things on the Nov. 4 show (which,as it went until half-past-midnight Central time, extended into Nov. 5 for me). These included my own Ghosthunting Maryland and the… Continue

Interview with Shirley MacLaine

Had a great chat this evening with Shirley MacLaine for her Independent Expression radio show about haunted places in not just in Maryland and Virginia but around the world! Going into it, I had a presentiment that it would be more challenging than usual, and it was ... Shirley asked me questions that I have never been asked before and -- which I noted when I spoke with her -- will in some cases affect the way I approach ghosthunting in the future. Beyond usual topics like the nature of g… Continue

Return to Winchester, Virginia

One of the last stops on my most recent book tour was Winchester, Virginia, which I have often described as one of the most haunted cities in Virginia. I devote an entire chapter of Ghosthunting Virginia to a number of sites in the 18th century heart of the town, two of which I revisited last weekend.

The first was the Fuller House Inn, a haunted establishment that my wife and I stayed at in April 2008 and eagerly hoped to visi… Continue

'Ghosthunting Maryland' on the Eastern Shore

Have been continuing the book tour for Ghosthunting Maryland and took it into the "Old Line State's" Eastern Shore over the weekend!

The main event was a visit to the wonderful Mystery Loves Company bookstore in Oxford, where I spent about three hours chatting with proprietor Kathy Harig, author Andy Nunez, and radio personality Drake Ferguson of WCEI Radio, who interv… Continue

Inspired Ghost Tracking, etc.

Had a very full first day of promoting Ghosthunting Maryland that included three hours chatting with the Inspired Ghost Tracking paranormal group in Odenton, Maryland! This is a smart, fun, very active group that I spent time with over the summer while I was doing fieldwork for my Maryland guide and deservedly have a presence in it. It was thus appropriate that I should kick off the book tour at one of their events. Thanks to Margaret, Julie, and all of the other great members of IGT.

Thanks Mike! I really enjoyed the show last not. I have been co-hosting with Donna for a while now and we always have a great time. As a matter of fact you were my first guest when I started co-hosting PSI-FI. There is never a time during the show where I was not enjoying myself. Please keep in touch and let me know if you find the Ghost Lights in TX I told you about and if you get to check into Harriton Hospital in MD. Hope to hear from you soon.

Mike,
Thanks for the kind words on my page. You asked about how I spent Halloween. I was home dressed as the Angel of Death giving out candy. I had a faceless hood on and a little girl wanted to know what my face looked like underneath and I said "maybe I don't have one" to which her companion said "OK, I'm scared now." and they left quickly.

As for upcoming events, I will be at Fall In 09 this weekend at the Eisenhower complex in Gettysburg talking up games and have my books on sale! Everybody who can come by, please do. I'll be at Chesapeake East in Salisbury signing books on Black Friday and at the Mardela Christmas craft fair on Dec. 6. Hope folks can drop over to the Eastern Shore and visit.

Finally, Mike, I was at Poplar Hill on Halloween Eve and one visitor was touched on her shoulder in the basement by the ghost of Samuel while I was upstairs explaining about the Clara Gunby photo that has strange images appear in it. Also, the room where the servant Sarah was burned to death became amazingly cold while I was up there. You want ghosts, friends, pack your grips and come on down to the Good Ol' Eastern Shore!

Thanks for the invite, Mike. I had a great time talking ghosts with you last Sunday. Hope you can come and visit again. Keep in touch and we'll see what other projects we can "scare up". BTW, Grosse Coate is not owned by Dick Cheney (at least not directly) according to the Maryland Real Property Search website. However, it is supposed to be haunted by a lady in white. Drop me an email when you get a chance!
