America's Haunted Roadtrip

Touring America's Greatest Haunted Areas

Anyone have suggestions on good haunts to visit in/around the Boston area? I may be headed that way in a couple of weeks. Thanks in advance!

Do you know of any hauntings in Salem? My daughter and I will be going to Salem over the Halloween weekend.

No problem! I will be able to help out even more if you go to Maryland or Virginia. Did you, by the way, check out Forest Lawn cemetery when you were in Los Angeles?

Turns out the Boston trip is likely off for now. But maybe in the future... thanks for all the info Michael!

Congrats on your first trip to the East Coast! Well, sticking a little closer to Boston, I would recommend checking out any of the traditional historic sites, which almost always have ghost stories associated with them and thus might actually be haunted. My best suggestion would be the USS Constitution, in Boston Harbor. I just visited its sister ship in Baltimore, USS Constellation, while doing fieldwork for Ghosthunting Maryland, and it is pretty haunted, so maybe the Constitution is too.

Do you have any other suggestions? I've never been on the east coast.

I know of a number of pretty promising sites just south of Boston, especially around Providence, Rhode Island. Foremost among these is an abandoned railroad tunnel that runs from a ruined bridge over the Seekonk River and about a mile right through College Hill. Something horrible was supposed to have happened in it back in the '70s, I think, and there is actually a burned out car in it. Exploration is discouraged, however, and I have actually seen a police cruiser guarding the path leading up to it. Always fun to see an official acknowledgment that a site is a magnet for weird activities!
