America's Haunted Roadtrip

Touring America's Greatest Haunted Areas

It’s been a busy week for The Ghosthunter!

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Ohio Paracon Convention at Hara Arena in Dayton. While mostly focusing on ghosts, there were also talks about crypto zoology and UFOs. Some of my fellow speakers were Keith Age, Brian Parsons, James Willis, Bob Hunnicutt, and John Sabol.

This was Ohio Paracon’s first convention and it was well done. Organized by Brian and James of Southern Ohio Paranormal Research, all of the profits were donated to the Ohio Historical Society. I know that the speakers and vendors that were present this year would like to attend next year. I’ll be there, so I hope that some more of you will come!

Home for one day, then off to Punderson Manor in Newbury, Ohio for a two-night visit and investigation. I’m working on my second book about Ohio haunting (to be published in 2011) and Punderson was a place I wanted to check out. My good friend Theresa Argie, from Paranormal Researchers of Ohio (PRO) was kind enough to give me some of her time and expertise as we set up some cameras and also tried recording EVPs. We haven’t reviewed the data yet, but we did debunk some of the Punderson stories (there was no lumberjack ghost hanging from the rafters for three hours!). Thanks again, Theresa, for your help.

After I checked out from Punderson, I drove to Willoughby to meet with Cathi Weber, who conducts a Willoughby ghost walk. She showed me the places on her walk, including the grave of the “Girl in Blue.”

After our meeting, I drove to Strongsville, where I had dinner with another ghostly friend, Mary Ann Winkowski (the real Ghost Whisperer) and her husband Ted. Mary Ann holds a monthly book club meeting at the Borders Books store in Strongsville and she had invited me up to speak to her group. They had read my book Ghosthunters and had a lot of questions for me. It was a fun night, with about fifty people in attendance.

Next morning, back to Cincinnati . . . but I may be in your neighborhood soon as I research the new book.

John
